This page is dedicated to the stuff I'm playing with outside of interaction design.
3d Modeling and Printing
You can see more of my tinkering at Thingiverse.
In collaboration with Jené DeSpain Jewelry, I'm working on models and 3d prototypes to extend her 2014 jewelry collection. This early model was printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2x.
This is a low res print. I have a lot of adjustments to make, before I print high-res. This took 2 hours.
This is a screenshot of the model in Z-brush
This ring prototype was modeled in Rhino3d and printed at Shapeways in flexible acrylic.
Sketching & Drawing
I've been trying out a lot of the iPad drawing apps and testing styli.
This illustration of Pepper was done using Paper by FiftyThree
I really like to sketch with Paper, but I fond the gestures too hard to remember. I started sketching random people on the subway with it and had a lot of fun. But when I made mistakes, and couldn't remember how to undo them, or doing the gestures incorrectly made the error worse.
This was a quick character development for my favorite short fiction by Catherynne M. Valente, Silently and Very Fast. This sketch was done in Procreate, my favorite drawing app. It features layers, and a very intuitive interface. Importing images and an easy way to share images.
